PDA: When is enough ENOUGH?

Is this too much, for example?

Justin Bieber and girlfriend, Selena Gomez, enjoying several initmate moments while in Hawaii.
Justin Bieber and mistress, Brittany King, also enjoying several initimate moments in Hawaii.

Misuse of Spandex?? I'm HURT.

Look Mom, I'm on TV...

Getting stopped by the police.

Wednesday, May 25 was the Commuter Challenge as part of Bike to Work Week. A vehicle VS a cyclist. Robin Farrell was our environment-killing driver for the challenge, I was the green-thinking cyclist, for the Uptown to Downtown Challenge. Who would get to the final destination faster?

I'm happy to report 15 out of the 20 challenges ended up with the cyclist winning. I, unfortunatley, was not so successful.
Robin, you win. And by "win", I mean, YOU CHEATER!!!!!!

The 113th Annual Victoria Day Parade

I grew up going to the Victoria Day Parade EVERY year when I was a kid, and this year...I GOT TO BE IN IT! I joined the Tour de Rock/TREK Bikes float along with 6 other Tour de Rock riders this year and waved my little butt off.

Which, by the way, was clad in spandex. Normally being on display in front of 60, 000 people clad in spandex wouldn't be my idea of a good time, but the parade has so much history and to be there with some of my Cops for Cancer teammates was definitely a highlight of my year, spandex and all.

WHAT A DAY

Wow, seriously Saturday, May 14 was one of those days you never wanted to end. EVER.

It was an INCREDIBLE day with the official 2011 Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock Team Presentation. Which I'm on. WHICH I'M ON!!!!!!!!! Sorry, it still excites me beyond belief to just think of how huge an honor it is to ride with these people and for this cause.

So we started the day with a training ride out to Sidney, then off to the Royal BC Museum for our official team presentation. In front of all our friends and family, we were unveiled as this year's Tour de Rock, complete with introductions and our new training gear and super awesome bikes from TREK. I thought we were a team before, but now with matching uniforms and bikes, watch out!

After the team presentation and photos, we headed out to Sidney (again) for a special event that evening. As it turned out, there was a big fundraising gala for Constable Bob Lacroix, who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. He's got a wife and 4 kids. We decided to show our support as a team and attend the event on our bikes. We were given some police escorts who led and followed our pack around town before arriving at the gala. It was an incredibly special show of support to be apart of. The gala was a huge success and the community support went above and beyond.

Then we changed out of our uniforms and matched the night's theme of black and white.

It was a really wonderful day and like I said, I didn't want it to end. But the good news is, I'm certain we've got a lot more of those kinds of days in the weeks and months to come.

And if you'd like to make a personal donation, a million thank yous! Click here to make a secure donation in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Power to BBQ

I'm starting to wonder about all these food-related events I seem to find myself at...McHappy Day on Wednesday and now...POWER TO BBQ in support of Power to Be Adventure Therapy.

Along with our friends at /A\ Vancouver Island, KOOL FM hosted a Friday BBQ today, with all proceeds going to Power to Be.

Thanks so much for coming out and showing your support! Hope you enjoyed your burger as much as Danny the Intern was clearly enjoying his...

McHappy to You!

Wednesday, May 11 was McHappy Day at all McDonalds locations, including Shellbourne and Cedar Hill, where KOOL FM was "working" for the day. And by "working" I mean getting confused at the cash register, posing by the cash register with my buddy Louise Hartland, taking pictures of all the paper boots people bought in support of the day, and standing behind the KOOL podium holding up our McHappy Day certificate.

Thanks for having us, McDonalds and thanks to YOU for supporting local children's charities and The Ronald McDonald House!

Friday night was the second annual WIN Fashion For Passion Fundraising Event, all in support of WIN's Self-Sufficiency Programs.
It was a WONDERFUL night, sold out, with a buffet dinner, silent auctions, SUPER CUTE centre pieces and of course...the fashion show. The 4 token male models were in Outlooks for Men and us ladies were in outfits exclusively from WIN, head to toe!

Here's me, a dapper Jack Knox from the Times Colonist and the lovely Louise Hartland from /A\ Vancouver Island.

Who Wears Short Shorts?? ME!

TONIGHT it's the 2nd Annual Fashion for Passion WIN Fundraising Event. It's at the Victoria Mariott, with dinner, a silent auction...and back by popular demand...another All-WIN Fashion Show!

Also back by popular demand...ME, on the runway! Audience beware: my legs haven't seen a lot of sun lately. Which normally isn't a big deal, except for one of my outfits is a pair of hot pink short shorts. You've been warned.

Get it while the going's good!

I'm talking about the weather, by the way.

What a beautiful weekend...the sun was out, the breeze was minimal and I got to ride my motorcycle for the whole day up island. Being from Victoria, I'm very familiar with the area, but to see it on a motorcyle is just...there are no words to describe how beautiful it is. I've since decided I'm going to wear a t-shirt that reads: "I Heart Vancouver Island". And I'm going to wear said t-shirt all the time, under my other clothes. How could you not, especially with views like this?!
