Mission: Get my Boyfriend to move to Victoria

OK, I've named the Mission, now I need to put the plan into action. Next week my bf is coming out for a week. He plans to move out here in a few months, but in the meantime, each of his visits are important to convince him more and more that Vancouver Island is the place to be! So with a visit planned next week, I want to bring the big guns out and really show him how wicked the island is! That way he'll have no doubt that this is definitely where he needs to move to!

Suggestions? What are some of your favorite local activities?

A Job Well Run!!

HUGE congratulations to everyone who participated in the 4th Annual Oak Bay KOOL Half Marathon! We were there for all the action, and when it was all said and done, you want to know the first thing I did? Took a nap! And I was there just to cheer everyone on. 21km? I'm fine, thanks, but I was more than happy to provide the moral support!
This was the fourth year that the half marathon has supported Help Fill a Dream Foundation and after another successful event, I'm already looking forward to next year's and showing HFAD even more support!

Who says 86 year olds can't get down!

A couple days this week I was filling in for Scott McGregor while he enjoyed some much deserved time off.

But the change did not suite my Nonna.

WTF??

That's all I can say to this video...7 year olds dancing pretty provocatively to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". It's a dance competition, so granted, they do have to bring it, but I think this may cross the line.

When I was in dance at that age, we once had a routine to "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Winnie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and I remember being shy about that song. How times have changed...

I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me...

Papa-Paparazzi! Love that song...and I love celebrity sightings on the island.

Over the weekend Jack Black and Owen Wilson were sighted in Tofino, filming their new comedy, The Big Year.

I don't think they reacted the way Brit-Brit did, which is good. Not as funny, though. Anywoo...let's talk celebrity sightings. WE know how beautiful it is on Vancouver Island, and apparently the word's getting out for all those Hollywood bigshots.

Have you seen famous people around town sipping thier Non-fat, no whip, half sweet, extra hot, no foam fancy drinks they probably drink?

Happy Happy McHappy Day!

Wednesday all McDonalds locations were celebrating McHappy Day in support of local children's charites.

It was a Supersized Success, especially at the Shelbourne location!

And if this radio thing doesn't work out, I've got a sweet back up plan.

A big thanks to you if you came out to eat your support and to the wonderful staff who were patient with me as I learned a new craft!
Also, Radio Announcers and Math clearly do not mix, as you can see. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take a McNap.

Where can you find pleasure, Search the world for tressure?

In the Navy! Thanks, Village People.

Congrats to the Canadian Navy, as they celebrate their Centennial!

Want to say thanks to the brave men and women who have been serving our country for 100 years? Leave it in the comments!

100 years never looked so good...the uniforms don't hurt either. wink wink.

It's not just me, either. My Nonna also has a thing for a man in a uniform...

Oil No!

After that massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, Jack Layton made a comment that unless we do something about it now, BC could face the danger of a similar situation in the near future. For a while now, oil companies have been in talks about setting up rigs near Kitimat. Good or bad idea?

This afternoon I got a couple calls from either side of the argument. One guy, Mike (who works in the industry) and another caller who works for an environmental organization.

Thoughts? Leave 'em in the comments!
